GFCI Outlets, Outdoor Outlets, & Switches 

A residential or commercial property may have been built before Texas adopted the 2020 NEC (National Electric Code) code. All electrical work must be installed in conformance with current code. Older facilities should undergo a risk assessment procedure to identify any existing problems that should be corrected, including outlets and switches. It takes time for a new code to be implemented, and not all electricians are up to date on the changes — we are.

The NEC code requires all residential outlets to be supplied by a branch circuit, with GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter) protection.
